Descripción

Small deep sea worm-like mollusks that lack both shells and distinct muscular feet, but have scales and calcareous sclerites (spines). The live vertically positioned in soft sediment, feeding upon organic detritus. In some classifications, this division, along with "Solenogastres" is called a class instead of a subclass; here the two are combined under class "Aplacophora."
