Desorption

The process in which a material leaves the surface of the solid into which it was absorbed or adsorbed; it is the reverse of those processes. In conservation, adsorption may refer as well to intentional removal of absorbed or adsorbed material from a substrate through increased heat, decreased pressure, or other measures.
