Masses (eucharists)

Services comprising a complex of prayers and ceremonies commemorating the crucifixion of Jesus Christ in the Roman Catholic rites. The term is derived from the rite’s Latin formula of dismissal, "Ite, missa est" (“Go, it is ended”). The term is also used to refer to the Eucharist in certain Protestant sects.
