Descripción

Species of fir tree native to the mountains of the eastern United States and Canada. It is closely related to Abies balsamea (balsam fir), of which it was formerly treated as a subspecies. It is cultivated as a Christmas tree due to its fragrance, shape, strong limbs, and ability to retain its soft needles after being cut.
