Santalales (order)

Order containing 8 families, 151 genera, and about 1,000 species of flowering plants. All the families in Santalales are parasitic to some degree, attaching either to the roots or branches of their hosts. Members have a cosmopolitan distribution, but are most heavily concentrated in tropical and subtropical regions.
