Descripción

The beech order of dicotyledonous woody flowering plants, comprising nearly 1,900 species in 55 genera. Members of Fagales represent some of the most important temperate deciduous or evergreen trees of both hemispheres, including oaks, beeches, walnuts, hickories, and birches. Fagales contains eight families: Betulaceae, Fagaceae, Juglandaceae, Casuarinaceae, Nothofagaceae, Myricaceae, Rhoipteleaceae, and Ticodendraceae.
