Descripción

Genus containing 1 to 3 species found in the Mediterranean region of Europe, Asia, and Africa. It is believed to be an archaic remnant part its family. The genus was long believed to include only one living species, C. siliqua, although it is now believed by some scholars that some African examples are distinct species.
