Demon locusts

Fantastical creatures having the body of a locust insect and often the face of a devil, tasked with tormenting people rather than crops; particularly as described in the Bible, Revelations. Alternatively, they may be described as having the body of a scorpion or of a horse. Ultimately derived from folkloric descriptions of real plagues of locusts or stinging insects.
