Descripción
Large land mammal of the genus Equus, noted for characteristic dark stripes on an ivory background, with leg stripes that are absent or very pale. Formerly found in rich grasslands over much of eastern and southern Africa, they were thought to have gone extinct, but small populations have been discovered.
