      15. <skos:note xml:lang="en">Members of a genus containing 32 species of small marine fishes with consecutive rings of body armor, a single, soft-rayed dorsal fin, forward-curled, prehensile tail, and head resembling a horse head and set at an angle to their bodies. The head has a long, tubular snout, small mouth, and eyes that can move independently of one another. Sea horses are weak swimmers that typically live along the shore among seaweed and other plants to which they cling by their tails. When swimming, they maintain an upright position, propelling themselves with their fins, and rising or sinking by altering the volume of gas within their swim bladders. They catch and eat small organisms by sucking them into their mouths. The male incubates the eggs.</skos:note>
