Members of about 38,000 species of predatory arachnids having two body segments, eight legs, no chewing mouth parts, no wings, and in many species possessing the ability to spinning webs, which are made of a thin, strong protein strand extruded from spinnerets (most commonly found on the end of the abdomen) and in which their prey is caught.
