<skos:note xml:lang="en">Educational institutions teaching at a level intermediate between elementary school and high school. The term is used primarily in North America, and usually covers grades 7 through 9. In some areas, usage with "middle schools" may overlap; however, most school systems that have a middle school typically do not also have a junior high school. Middle schools in most areas accept children a year or two younger than those in junior high schools.</skos:note>
