Neutron diffraction

The phenomenon, similar in principle to electron diffraction, whereby a beam of neutrons scattered by the regularly spaced atoms of a solid produces diffraction patterns characteristic of the solid’s crystal structure. Neutron diffraction may be used in place of x-ray crystallography.
