Hoewel de werken die tot de stijl worden gerekend zeer uiteenlopen, kenmerken ze zich in het algemeen door semi-naturalistische, pakkende dieren en een formele compositie met motieven van gelijke grote die gezamenlijk een bont dessin vormen. De stijl lijkt overeenkomsten te vertonen met de Angelsaksische Trewhiddle-stijl.</skos:note>
