      10. <skos:note xml:lang="en">Refers to the style of painting that emerged from Peruvian painters of various ethnic origins active in Cuzco from the 16th to the 19th centuries. It is characterized by the use of indigenous traditions influenced by Netherlandish Late Gothic Art. Dramatic chiaroscuro painters in the Cuzco style were often Indians taught by Spanish masters. Later, Indian painters began to work in styles independent from Spanish and Creole traditions under the patronage of local leaders, abandoning European perspective and favoring flat compositions filled with gilded nature and Incan motifs.</skos:note>

Se caracteriza por el uso de tradiciones indígenas influenciado por el Arte Gótico Tardío de los Países Bajos. Los pintores del impresionante claroscuro en el estilo Cuzco eran a menudo indios entrenados por maestros españoles. Posteriormente, los pintores indios empezaron a trabajar en estilos independientes de los españoles y de las tradiciones criollas bajo el patrocinio de líderes locales, abandonando la perspectiva europea y privilegiando composiciones planas llenas de naturaleza dorada y motivos incaicos.</skos:note>

De stijl wordt gekenmerkt door inheemse tradities met invloeden van Nederlandse late gotische kunst. Opvallende chiaroscuro-schilders in de Cuzco-stijl waren vaak indianen die les hadden gevolgd bij Spaanse meesters. Later begonnen indiaanse schilders te werken in stijlen waarbij de Spaanse en creoolse traditie werd losgelaten, met steun van lokale leiders. Hierbij ging het Europese perspectief verloren en bestond een voorkeur voor vlakke composities met sierlijke natuur- en incamotieven.</skos:note>
