Styles and cultures of North and Northwest Africa (formerly known in Europe as Africa Minor or Barbary) between the Atlantic Ocean and Egypt, comprising the coastal plain and Atlas Mountains of Morocco, together with Algeria, Tunisia, and sometimes also Tripolitania (in present-day Libya). In recent use, the term specifically refers to the nations of Morocco, Algeria, and Tunisia when referred to collectively as a social, political, or economic grouping.
