The constituent parts of constructed works, such as doors and walls, that extend the continuum at even smaller scale, are found in the Components hierarchy. Descriptors are not repeated; therefore, in those instances where a descriptor may logically appear at more than one level of the continuum (e.g., "chapels" may be either single built works or components of a work), it is placed in the hierarchy containing the smaller scale elements unless factors of common usage, design intent, or historical precedence dictate otherwise.</skos:note>

Descriptoren worden niet herhaald; in gevallen waar dus verwacht mag worden dat een descriptor op meer dan één niveau van het continuüm voorkomt ('kapellen' bijvoorbeeld kunnen zowel een zelfstandig bouwwerk als componenten van een bouwwerk zijn), worden deze binnen de hiërarchie met de kleinschaligere elementen onderbracht, tenzij factoren als gebruikelijke toepassing, bedoeld gebruik of historisch precedent aanleiding geven tot een andere keuze.</skos:note>
