Descripción
The posterior extremities of animals, in position opposite to the head and forming either a distinct flexible appendage to the trunk (e.g., in a dog or cat) or a continuation of the trunk behind the anus (as in a dolphin). In vertebrates, the tail contains an extension of the vertebrae beyond the backbone.
