Descripción

Any substance introduced into a deteriorated or otherwise fragile material where it strengthens and stabilizes parts into a whole, solid, or compact mass. In the conservation of sculpture, stone that has lost cohesive strength must be reinstated by the introduction of a consolidant. Materials used in this context may include epoxy, silicates, or acrylics.
