<dc:description xml:lang="es">Carrier-Belleuse es el nombre utilizado por este escultor - nacido portador de Belleuse - en sus piezas avanzadas en su producción, después de haber firmado inicialmente obras "A. Carrier". A partir de 1867, Carrier-Belleuse se estableció internacionalmente como un escultor de gran arte. Se produce, obra en abundancia para una variedad de clientes internacionales. Elevó un tono crítico durante su vida con sus sensuales desnudos femeninos. El trabajo persigue más realismo y materialidad seductora. A pesar de su asociación con la sensualidad rococó, el dominio de Carrier-Belleuse en la articulación de forma dio tanta vitalidad y dinamismo. En esta espléndida escultura criselefantina, combinación de los materiales, marfil y bronce, apreciamos esa sensualidad mencionada anteriormente, como inclina la cabeza hacia un lado, coloca los brazos. Dándonos la impresión que se encuentra recién levantada y se nos muestra desperezándose. Su anatomía envuelta con una tela que en definitiva se trata del bronce y con reminiscencias clásicas, al acentuar la cadera con líneas muy marcadas o un efecto de paños mojados que marcan la figura y por medio de una transparencia insinúa y deja ver lo que hay debajo de ella. Carrier Belleuse tuvo un impacto considerable sobre el arte y la carrera de los escultores más jóvenes que trabajaban para él, sobre todo Auguste Rodin, ya sea en París o en Bruselas, donde ambos se trasladaron durante la guerra franco-prusiana de 1870-1871.</dc:description>
