      3. <dc:description xml:lang="es">Este reloj dorado francés, de figura de chimenea, podemos datarlo en la primera mitad del siglo XIX. Realizado en bronce dorado y mezlado con oro molido. En él, vemos representado un grupo escultórico, la Madonna de la silla, inspirada en el tondo (pintura al óleo sobre tabla de forma redonda) del pintor Rafael.Se conserva en la Galería Palatina del Palacio Pitti de Florencia. Muestra un detalle de la obra,la Virgen abrazando al Niño Jesús como una campesina de Velletri,lugar por el que paseaba Rafael. Éste, quedó particularmente atraído por la belleza de una madre joven con su hijo, y que no teniendo con él los instrumentos de su oficio, esbozó con una tiza el retrato de la mujer con el niño en brazos. Esta obra fue muy difundida a través de reproducciones y se convirtió en un objeto de devoción, sobre todo en el Siglo XIX. La máquina de esta réloj ha sido sustituida en algún momento, aunque conserva la sonería de medias y horas sobre el timbre. Este tipo de relojes contaban con una determinada clientela, conventos regentados por congregaciones religiosas femeninas, con una triple finalidad : Decorativo, funcional y por supuesto, su carácter devocional. Al iniciar la investigación de este objeto, hemos localizado uno de semejantes características y además expuesto, entre los fondos de la Colección del Marqués de Cerralbo.</dc:description>
