Descripción

Rubbing or scraping the flesh side of leather with a hand tool, such as a moon knife, to make it soft and pliable. Distinct from "staking" in that the leather is secured and the tool is moved. It is a gentler operation than staking, and done mainly on furred or woolled skins or delicate ones.
