Processes and their accompanying technologies that can construct physical models from three-dimensional design data. It is an additive process, created by adding layers of paper, wax or plastic with the end result being a solid, 3-D object. Rapid prototyping processes are generally used by industrial designers to create prototypes of their designs both for displaying and testing.
