Descripción
A machine-supported conservation technique developed by Christopher Clarkson for reattaching book boards which have detached due to very thin covering material at the joints, a problem that frequently arises with nineteenth-century books. A milling machine creates a slot in the spine edge of the board, into which a new cloth flange is inserted to form the new attachment.
