Descripción

Writing produced involuntarily, when the subject's attention is focused elsewhere, performed in a waking or hypnotic state. In the late 19th century, automatic writing was frequently attributed to supernatural forces. In the 20th century, it has been viewed as an internal phenomenon, specifically in relation to theories of the personality. The Surrealists adopted this technique with the hopes that it would assist in tapping the unconscious.
