Descripción

Refers to a projection generally used in map-making, where a section of the surface of the Earth or other heavenly body is depicted so that a straight line drawn from the center to any other point represents the shortest distance and can be measured to scale. This type of projection is often used to show distances and directions from a particular city, and measurements are accurate only when taken from the selected central point.
