Descripción

Refers to an azimuthal projection typically used in map-making and depicting the sphere of the Earth or other heavenly body where the point of sight is at the center and the plane of projection passes through one of the polar circles. It is typcially limited to 10 or 15 degrees from the pole; parallels of latitude are concentric circles and meridians are radiating straight lines.
