Descripción

Species of large evergreen tree, growing to 20-55 m tall, native to Europe and western Asia. Its name, "black pine," is derived from the somber appearance created by dark green, sharp, rigid, rather long needles and deeply fissured bark. It is widely cultivated as an ornamental.
