<skos:note xml:lang="en">Species of medium-sized coniferous tree native to the mountains of eastern Africa, including Sudan, Zimbabwe, and the Arabian Peninsula. It is the only juniper south of the equator, probably a relatively recent colonist of Africa. It is closely related to Juniperus excelsa from southwestern Asia, probably deriving from a common ancestor with that species.</skos:note>
