Descripción
Family containing 15 genera and 55 species of mackerels, tunas, and bonitos, having two dorsal fins, a series of finlets between the rear dorsal fin and behind the anal fin, a caudal fin that is strongly divided and rigid, with a slender, ridged, base. They are generally fast predators in the open ocean. Some members of the family warm-blooded, such as the tuna.
