Descripción

Order of amphibians characterized by larvae lacking true teeth and external gills, adults being tailless and having elongated hind limbs modified for jumping, and a single frontoparietal and no lacrimal bone in skull. Dates from the Middle Jurassic to present, including two extinct and 28 or more extant families with over 5,400 living species.
