Descripción

Members of an order of containing 240,000 species of insects possessing a single pair of wings on the mesothorax and hind wings that have developed into a pair of halteres on the metathorax. Insects in other orders may have the word "fly" in their name (e.g., dragonfly), but they are not true flies.
