Descripción

An outline or form combining elements of oval and triangular, typically having three sides, often rounded, with the form being wider at the top and tapering to a point at the bottom; the name refers to a common shape of medieval shields or escutcheons. The term is used, for example, with reference to the backs of Federal and similar types of chairs, and for a certain shape for cut gems.
