Burdock (motifs)

Stylized motif of the burdock plant, genus Arctium, used in carpet patterns to guard against bad luck or to symbolize abundance. It is a diamond shaped motif, often with a smaller diamond in the middle, of which the distinguishing aspect is the small lines or hooked lines radiating from the outermost diamond to represent small burrs.
