Government (political concept)

The political concept according to which a nation or community is governed, defined by the nature of the community governed, such as civil government or ecclesiastical government, or the kind of organization adopted, such as monarchical government or republican government. To refer to the bodies themselves which exercise the authority to govern, use “governments (administrative).”
