Descripción
The process by which an ordered structure within input data (e.g., speech, blocks of text, images) is recognized as a meaningful array distinct from surrounding stimuli. While first recognized and studied as a mental process, pattern recognition is now most widely pursued by computer science and engineering in attempts to create artificial perceptual systems.
