Descripción

Refers to the irrationally-based feeling of apprehension or dread, a product of internal emotional or psychological conflicts. The feeling can be situation-specific, chronic, or general and diffuse. Often associated with Freudian ideas of suppressed feelings and impulses and with the idea of learned or conditioned response mechanism in which the anxiety is triggered by events or stimuli associated with circumstances that previously produced a frightening or stressful experience.
