Viewpoint

Imagined or real point in space from which a viewer of an art work would look at an object or visual field. Compositions and perspectival systems in works of Western art are often designed with the viewer's point of view in mind. The meaning overlaps with "station point," although "station point" is more often used in reference to perspectival conventions of architectural drawings, while "viewpoint" is used to refer to all art forms.
