Bhakti

In Hinduism, loving and adoring devotion to God or to one's chosen manifestation of the divine that leads to a close personal relationship with God. By surrendering to God, one can receive grace, however low one's station. In most religious texts of popular Hinduism, bhakti is recommended as the most effective path to the divine. This concept is behind some of the world's most moving theistic poetry.
