Descripción

An early Judeo-Christian sect dating to the 4th century, located in Jerusalem, and believing that Jesus of Nazareth was the promised Messiah and the Son of God. As the Ebionites, Nazarenes considered themselves Jews, adhered to Mosaic Law, and used only the Aramaic Gospel of the Hebrews. They accepted the doctrine of the Virgin Birth. In early texts, the term is also used broadly to refer to any Christian.
