   4. <skos:note xml:lang="en">An early ceramics style that is features elaborate geometric motifs on a range of vessel shapes and distributed widely throughout Oceanic cultures. The distinct patterns were created using a toothed stamp of a single design element that is combined with other stamps to form a pattern. These designs occasionally include anthropomorphic faces and figures. In addition to vessels, freestanding Lapita pottery figures depicting human and animal subjects have also been unearthed. The style is named after a site in New Caledonia and an ancient Pacific culture.</skos:note>

   5. <skos:note xml:lang="nl">Vroege keramiekstijl gekenmerkt door complexe geometrische motieven op vaten in allerlei vormen en die wijd verspreid voorkomen binnen alle culturen van Oceanië. De opvallende patronen zijn gecreëerd met behulp van een getand stempel met één ontwerpelement dat in combinatie met andere stempels een patroon vormt. De ontwerpen tonen soms ook antropomorfische gezichten en figuren. Naast vaatwerk zijn ook vrijstaande Lapita-aardewerkfiguren met menselijke en dierlijke thema's opgegraven. De stijl is genoemd naar een vindplaats in Nieuw-Caledonië en naar een oude cultuur van de Stille Oceaan.</skos:note>
