Descripción

Describes the various types of artwork created by the aboriginal Tasmanians, who suffered greatly with European colonization. Hardly any artwork survives of Tasmania. Early records suggest that Tasmania was equally as rich with artistic traditions similar to those found in the rest of Australia. Early photographs and paintings by Thomas Bock exemplify elaborate hair decoration and body adornment.
