Refers to the style of art, architecture, and material culture created during the Islamic dynasty of Sunni Turkomans ruling eastern Anatolia, Iran and Iraq from 1378 to 1508. Rising to power by supporting Timur, Akkoyunlu princes were patrons of architecture, metalwork and book arts.
