Descripción

Refers to the style and period that coincided with the reign of Osman I, a Turkish ruler active in northwest Anatolia at the end of the 13th and beginning of the 14th centuries. His emirate took over the declining rule of the Saljuqs of Anatolia and was based on the concept of religious warfare. Under Osman I, the state expanded rapidly to the west over Byzantine territory in Thrace and the Balkans. Little is documented regarding the art of this period.
