Descripción

Refers to the style and period associated with the penitentiary pilgrimages, the Crusades of 1096 to 1291, and subsequent settlement of European Christians in the Holy Land and eastern Mediterranean area through the 15th century. The style is characterized by the joining of European Romanesque and Gothic art and architecture with the local artistic traditions.
