Descripción

Refers to the movement in British sculpture from about 1870 to about 1920 that aimed to revive the quality of British sculpture. Viewed as a departure from the conservativism and blandness of Neoclassicism, the style is characterized by greater realism, a tendency toward symbolism and fantasy, the use of non-Classical themes, and the use of materials other than marble.
