Eleventh Dynasty (Egyptian)

Refers to the period in Egypt from about 2081 to 1938 BCE, although it was not until 2008 that Egypt was reunified and the Middle Kingdom began. While the capital of the Dynasty was Thebes in the South, the reunification brought about a return to the artistic traditions associated with the North and an overall uniformity of style as a result of the centralized control of royal workshops.
