The culture and artistic styles produced on the Aegean island of Naxos between circa 600 and 480 BCE during the period corresponding to the Greek Archaic period, or of the colony of Naxos on Sicily. The island is known mainly as a center for the production of monumental sculpture especially kouroi because of its numerous marble quarries.
