Descripción

Refers to an architectural style that has the same roots as the Ionic style. It developed in the northern Aegean islands and coastal region, but is seen in Etruria and elsewhere. It is seldom found after the fifth or fourth centuries BCE. It is distinguished from the Ionic by being much closer to the eastern prototypes, notably in the capitals where volutes rise from separate stems.
