Descripción

Refers to the intermediate phase of Minoan art and culture, according to the classification system devised by the archaeologist, Arthur Evans. It is characterized by modeled clay figures in the form of animals or humans that display emotions, pottery decoration that is polychrome and composed of increasingly complex curvilinear and foliate designs, and the construction of palaces. It overlaps with the Protopalatial period.
